A modern PC. A legacy-free PC has SATA drives, and PCI, PCI Express and USB interfaces. Long gone are the serial, parallel, keyboard, mouse and analog modem ports, and of course the floppy drive. Should an older device need to be used in a legacy-free PC, there are numerous adapters that plug into USB.

New desktop PCs use the DisplayPort interface for a monitor; however, they may also include DVI, and some PCs may still offer the earlier VGA port. See

When the original ISA expansion bus was superseded by PCI, ISA became legacy. PCI used to be the primary socket for a graphics card but was superseded by AGP and later PCI Express. See
