Definition: Xerox 914


The first modern photocopy machine, whereby a plain paper copy was made by merely placing the original on a glass platform and pressing a button. Introduced in 1959, the 914 was Xerox's first automatic machine. It followed nine years after the Model A, and users no longer had to perform a lengthy manual operation to make a copy.
