Definition: VESA


(VESA, San Jose, CA) Founded as the Video Electronics Standards Association in 1989, VESA is a membership organization that sets interface standards for PCs, workstations and computing environments. VESA was originally started by NEC Home Electronics in 1988 to develop a Super VGA graphics standard to enhance IBM's VGA (see SVGA).
