Definition: Palantir

A software company in Denver, Colorado that was founded for big data analysis in 2003 by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and three colleagues. Palantir takes all the data scattered throughout the many departments in a government agency or big corporation and presents it in a manner useful for business observation and assessment as well as law enforcement and counterterrorism analysis.

Palantir embraced AI as it became popular in the 2020s; for example, its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) integrates AI models into private networks. The axiom is "AI-Powered Automation for Every Decision." See big data and AI companies.
