Definition: Inbox by Gmail
A Google email service introduced in 2015 that grouped messages with similar content. Features such as Smart Reply (canned responses) and Smart Compose (filling out the rest of the sentence) were introduced and later added into subscription-based enterprise Gmail (see Google Workspace). Inbox by Gmail was highly praised by many but also criticized by users who felt they were giving up too much control. Inbox by Gmail was shuttered in March 2019. See Gmail and Google Workspace.
