The 5th-generation microarchitecture in Intel's Core family of CPU chips, introduced in 2014 and superseding Haswell. Broadwell shrank element size to 14 nm by using taller, thinner transistor fins spaced closer together (see
Tri-Gate transistor). Broadwell computers offered a bit more performance with about 30% less power. See
