Definition: timeboxing

In project management, timeboxing is the allocation of a fixed amount of time to complete each aspect of the overall project. It is used in software development; for example, the Scrum method divides each part of the project into a Sprint, which is typically 30 days. Other methods may have 60 or 90 day timeboxes. See Scrum.
