An organization that provides voice transmission services, such as AT&T and Verizon. A company that specializes in manufacturing telephones and related equipment may also be called a telecom company. However, manufacturers of networking hardware (routers, switches, etc.) are more likely to refer to themselves as data networking or networking companies. See
