Definition: stETH

(STaked ETHer) A token from the Lido staking provider that is given for each ETH staked on Ethereum 2.0. The Lido service supports Ethereum, Solana and other proof-of-stake blockchains and enables people to stake with fewer assets than the required minimum. For example, Ethereum 2.0 requires 32 ETH. Theoretically, 1 stETH should retain the same value of 1 ETH; however, tokens on the open market can fluctuate. See Ethereum 2.0.

Two Staking Examples
From Lido's website, here are two examples describing the value proposition for staking the tokens people have. These were the yields as of late July 2022. See staking provider.
