The Cure-All
Power cycling is often the remedy for myriad problems, because the device is reset to a starting point. Turning off any computer-based stationary or mobile device clears its memory, which holds settings that may have become invalid over time. Vendors often recommend turning a smartphone off every night. Sometimes, power cycling several times can cure low battery issues that keep a device from restarting. See memory.
