(2) Surfing the Web without leaving traces in the computer being used. Also called "porn mode." If people wish to keep their surfing habits private on their own computer or on a public computer, they can invoke the browser's private mode, and all cookies and cached files retrieved during the session, as well as the history of the session itself, will be deleted at the end. However, downloads and bookmarks set by the user are retained. Private browsing modes are known as InPrivate (IE), Private Browsing (Firefox and Safari) and Incognito (Chrome). See
