A website that does not require a browser plug-in in order to view some or all of its content. For example, in the past, many websites contained Flash videos, and a Flash plug-in was required in the browser to play them. Users prefer plug-in free solutions for several reasons. When a new computer is purchased, the necessary plug-ins have to be installed. Users may come across a website that requires a newer version of the plug-in, and whenever the browser is updated, an existing plug-in may not be compatible.
