Definition: phone-free concert
A musical event that either discourages or prohibits attendees using their smartphones during the performance. Phone-free concerts emerged in the mid-2010s but gained a lot of traction in the mid-2020s due to the excessive number of people recording the event from their phones.
Phone-Free Classrooms
Also in the mid-2020s, phone-free classrooms gained traction to reduce distractions and enhance learning. In some cases, phones are actually locked in a container before class and unlocked at the end. Not only are phones distractions in general, but they allow students to cheat when taking tests.
