Definition: people analytics
The study of human behavior. People analytics is a very imprecise discipline because it attempts to electronically classify human beings with all their variations and complexities. The primary goal of behavioral scientists is to develop algorithms that catalog people's attitudes so they can be counseled to improve their efficiency. For decades, people analytics has been used by governments and large organizations across the globe.
It has been said that there are eight billion unique individuals on the planet, and trying to identify them as a set of data elements is an impossible task. Nevertheless, behavioral scientists continually accumulate more data on human speech, emails, reports and all other human output that conveys attitudes, convictions, sentiments and fears, even psychoses.
