A subscription to a television service from a cable, satellite or telephone company. The term pay TV generally excludes Internet-based streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, which also charge a monthly fee. Although streaming fees are much lower than a pay TV package, the fees add up if viewers subscribe to several streaming channels.
Pay-Per-View
Pay TV also includes premium content such as a sporting event or newly released movie that is priced individually and may be delivered on demand or at a scheduled time. See
