Redirected from: pairwise key
Definition: group key
An encryption key that is used by everyone on the network or in the vicinity. Contrast with an "individual key" that is used for only one user, also called "pairwise key," "per-station key" and "unique key." Group keys and individual keys may be used in tandem. For example, group keys may be used for broadcasting to everyone, while individual keys are used for transmitting to one user.
