A processor or controller chip. "Logic" implies "processing," in which a set of instructions is executed. The instructions may be a permanent set embedded in a microcontroller or, for smartphones, tablets and computers, a varying set that is copied from storage to memory as required. See
memory and
microcontroller.
The primary logic chip in computing devices is the CPU. A graphics processing unit (GPU) and AI accelerator are also logic chips. Embedded circuits within a system-on-chip execute instructions for camera, Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth and biometric functions (see
SoC). Contrast with
memory chip. See

GPU,
logic device and
discrete logic.
