Definition: image blocker

A feature of, or extension to, a Web browser that does not render images. An image blocker can be used when download speed is very poor or when a website is overloaded with images and only the text is desired. For cellular connections, an image blocker in a smartphone can keep users from reaching their data limit and paying extra fees. See Web browser and data cap.
