(1) A type of time-lapse photography. Instead of capturing periodic images while stationary, the hyperlapse technique takes video while moving over some distance. Also called "moving time-lapse photography."
(2) (Hyperlapse) A mobile time-lapse video app from Instagram. Hyperlapse can be played back from one to 12 times the speed of the original recording. Introduced in 2016 for iOS devices only, the programming interface (API) to the video functions was not available from Google to support Android devices. See
