A high-speed communications system that links computer-based devices in the home to an Internet service provider (ISP). Home broadband may use a cable, DSL, satellite or fixed wireless connection.
Home broadband creates an internal network that links all devices together via wired Ethernet and wireless Wi-Fi, including printers, scanners, virtual assistants and other smart home devices. The internal local network is generally considerably faster than the speed to and from the ISP. See
