A naturally occurring gas. Atomic number 2 on the periodic table, helium (he) is used in missles, electronics and fiber optics. It is also used in chip making to cool the silicon wafers and check vacuum chambers for leakage. The largest sources for helium are the U.S. and Qatar. It is also found in Poland, Russia and Algeria.
