The distance between the gates of two transistors on a chip. Gate pitch is one method of measuring transistor density. Unlike the transistor feature size used in today's semiconductor branding, gate pitch is a real measurment. For example, a gate pitch of 45 nm might be called a "3 nm" node for branding purposes. See
