With regard to social media, a follower is a person who wants to hear the thoughts and opinions of another social media subscriber. Followers receive notifications if the person or organization they follow has posted something new. If people have suggestions that enable others to improve their daily life or simply feel better about themselves, they can have tens of thousands of followers.
