All modern LCD desktop monitors have digital inputs and may have an analog input for entry-level and older computers. DisplayPort (DP) is the high-end digital interface on all Macs and PCs. HDMI is also used, and DVI was an earlier digital connection. Digital-to-digital transfer provides the sharpest image, and if a PC has only analog VGA output to the monitor, it can be upgraded to digital output (DP, HDMI or DVI) with a plug-in card. See
