Definition: exit console

A small on-screen window displayed as a user leaves a website. When the user exits the current Web page that contains the console code, typically written in JavaScript, the console window usually contains a final plea to purchase something. An exit console is often rendered when users leave a never-ending "our-newsletter-will-make-you-rich" video before it is finished.
