(2) A software-based utility. See control panel.

(3) An application or website that shows changing data in real time such as stock market and crypto prices. See crypto ticker.

(4) A software-based control panel for managing multiple applications, network devices or industrial machines. Business dashboards show bar charts and graphs. For example, a well-designed executive dashboard summarizes all essential data on one or two screens (see decision support system). Industrial dashboards may simulate gauges and dials that are found on a factory assembly line (see HMI).

(5) (Dashboard) An earlier Windows utility from Starfish Software that provided a centralized control panel for launching applications, finding files and viewing system resources. Originally developed by HP, it was later acquired by Starfish, a subsidiary of Nokia.
