Non-removable flash memory that is used for storage in cellphones, tablets and other portable devices. The commonly quoted storage capacities (8GB, 16GB, 32GB, etc.) refer to flash memory chips fixed inside the units and not removable. In addition to this internal storage, some devices accept a removable flash card for more capacity. See eMMC and flash memory.
