The "digital elite." The digerati are people who are extremely knowledgeable about computers. Digerati often refers to the movers and shakers in the industry, who may or may not have extensive technical expertise (see power user).

Digerati is the high-tech equivalent of "literati," which refers to scholars and intellectuals, or "glitterati," the rich and famous. Digerati, "technorati" and "geekerati" are used synonymously. See technorati, glasserati and Illuminati.
