An attack on computers and networks that affects nations worldwide. A cyber apocalypse implies that critical infrastructure within one or more countries is continuously bombarded with ransomware and other attacks so that every civilian service is either dramatically slowed or shut down. Also called a "cyber Armageddon" and "cyber pandemic." See
