(
BIOlogical computer) A computing device comprising human elements. In late 2023, a team headed by Feng Guo at Indiana University Bloomington created "Brainware," a brain organoid comprising stem cells attached to a computer chip. Brainware can perform elementary speech recognition, and according to Guo "was the first demonstration of using brain organoids for computing."
Indiana University's Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering provides studies in bioinformatics and computational biology. See
