Definition: antitheft

Preventing portable computing devices from being stolen or locating them if they are. Physical deterrents are cables and locks that can be attached to most laptops (see Kensington lock). Software solutions use the Internet, Wi-Fi and GPS to remotely identify the whereabouts of the unit, possibly take the thief's picture if it has a camera, as well as lock up the device for further usage or delete sensitive data. See mobile positioning.

Bitdefender's Antitheft
Bitdefender antitheft is part of its Android Mobile Security app. Scream causes a lost phone to sound an alarm even in silent mode when "pinged" from an Android Wear device.
