Definition: spyware blocker


Software that detects and removes spyware and adware from the computer. A spyware blocker also prevents such software from being installed. Stateful inspection firewalls alert users when software other than a browser makes an outbound request for the first time, which could be spyware contacting a website. See spyware and firewall.
