Definition: accountability software

An application in a computer or mobile device that tracks a person's online activity or physical whereabouts. Reports are sent to designated monitors, which in the case of parental control software and child tracking would be the parents. See parental control software and child tracking.

Shameware
Shameware is accountability software that tracks pornography. For example, Covenant Eyes tracks Internet activity and reports violations along with periodic screenshots. Because it violated Google's app store policy, the Covenant Eyes Android version was removed from Google Play; however, similar apps are available in the store. See accountability.
