(2) AMD's current CPU microarchitecture. Debuting in 2017, the Ryzen and EPYC chips are based on Zen. Zen 5 is the chip technology as of 2025, and Zen 6 is expected in 2026.
Starting with Zen 2, AMD began using chiplets for more cores per chip, and Zen 3 featured L3 caches vertically stacked on top of the cores to greatly expand the cache size. See
