Definition: Win Dial-up Networking
Dial-up Networking is used to establish a connection to a remote dial-up service with an analog modem. This was commonly used before the days of cable and DSL services. To set up a new connection, Windows takes you through a series of prompts.
Windows 7 and 10
To set up a new dial-up connection, do the following:
1. Start menu/Control Panel.
2. Click Network and Sharing Center.
3. Click Set up a new connection or network.
4. Click Set up a dial-up connection and follow prompts.
