Definition: WiDi


(WIreless DIsplay) A wireless laptop-to-TV technology built into various Intel Core CPUs in laptops. WiDi enables everything on the laptop screen to be viewed simultaneously on a TV set. Introduced in 2010, a WiDi TV adapter is required that connects to the TV set and receives signals from the laptop. WiDi supports Intel's streaming copy prevention system (see Intel Insider).
