A Wi-Fi discovery mechanism that detects Wi-Fi devices and services within an immediate range. Also called "neighborhood awareness networking" (NAN), Wi-Fi Aware does not need a hotspot access point (AP) for connectivity. Devices create their own communications cluster with adjacent devices. See
