Judged by more than two thousand experts and sometimes called the "Oscars of the Internet," Webby Awards are given out for excellence in desktop and mobile websites, apps, film, video, social media and advertising. Launched in 1996 and considered an honor by the winners, the Awards are somewhat controversial because people must pay to enter the contest as well as attend the award ceremony. See
