Minute) The measure of a person's typing speed. Although touch typists range from 50 to 80 WPM, very fast typists attain 100 or more. Experienced "hunt and peck" typists typically maintain from 25 to 40 WPM, while the world's record for blistering speed is credited to Stella Pajunas-Garnand, who typed 216 WPM on an IBM electric typewriter in Chicago in 1946.
