Definition: VDT radiation

The electromagnetic radiation emitted from a computer display screen. Exhaustive testing so far seems inconclusive, but vendors recommend keeping the face at least 18 to 20 inches from the screen. Flat panel displays emit considerably less radiation than a CRT.
