A major provider of cybersecurity software from Kaspersky Labs, Moscow. Kaspersky products include antivirus, password management, endpoint and Internet security and more. Founded in 1997 by Yevgeny Kaspersky, the software is very popular worldwide. However, because the company was alleged to include spyware in its products, in 2017, Kaspersky software was banned for use by U.S. government agencies. After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the U.S. government warned American businesses that Kaspersky software may cause harm.
To mitigate the accusations, the company offered to cooperate with the U.S. in every way possible. However, in September 2024, Kaspersky migrated U.S. customers to UltraAV from Pango, a U.S. company. See
