Definition: USDC


(United States Dollar Coin) A stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar. Launched in 2018, each USDC token is backed by a dollar or equivalent investment. USDC is managed by the Centre consortium founded by the Circle payments company and Coinbase associates. In 2021, USDC tokens were accepted by Visa to settle transactions.
