SCSI
Protocol) A faster protocol for storage drives attached to the computer via USB. USB Versions 1 and 2 provided bulk-only transport (BOT); however, USB 3.0 supports UASP along with Windows and Mac starting with Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion). The SCSI in the name does not refer to the drives, which are typically SATA, but to the transfer protocol, and most USB 3.0 drive enclosures and docking stations support UASP. See
