Definition: Tseng Labs
(Tseng Labs, Inc., Newtown, PA) A company that manufactured chipsets and graphics cards for PCs. Founded in 1983, it provided products that enhanced PC display standards, and its ET3000 and ET4000 chips were used in millions of products.
In late 1997, Tseng's employees, facilities and proprietary designs were acquired by Canadian-based ATI Technologies and turned into ATI Research. Later, Tseng merged with Cell Pathways, a private company in Horsham, PA, specializing in drugs for the prevention of cancer.
