Definition: Set protocol

(1) For the credit card payment protocol, see Set.

(2) A protocol for combining crypto assets into an offering that can be bought and sold like an index fund of stocks. Set enables fund creators to develop "TokenSets" based on any crypto category such as high yield or DeFi in general. Each TokenSet is a smart contract created on Ethereum or other programmable blockchain. The contract becomes the custodian of the assets in the TokenSet, and the user interacts with the contract.

Examples of Set Offerings
In August 2022, this example (top) is one of three new TokenSets, along with the first three of eleven Thematic sets (bottom). Thematic sets are built around a single theme; however, the Set protocol also offers Leveraged, Yield Bearing and Uncategorized groups. (Images courtesy of Set Labs, Inc.)
