The driver assistance system in Tesla electric vehicles. Although Autopilot does, in fact, drive the car under almost all conditions, it requires the driver to be attentive and able to take over immediately if required. Accidents have occurred because drivers fall asleep or do not pay attention.
Full Self-Driving (Supervised)
Tesla launched Full Self-Driving (FSD) in beta to a limited number of customers from 2020 to 2024. Originally intended to be fully automatic, when it came out of beta, "Supervised" was added to the FSD name, requiring drivers to stay alert. See
