A system-on-chip (SoC) from Google that made its first appearance in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro smartphones in 2021. The five-nanometer Tensor chip has an 8-core CPU, 20-core GPU and an AI-related processor for enhanced camera and audio operations, as well as future machine learning applications. The Tensor chip superseded the Pixel Neural Core, which debuted in 2019 in the Pixel 4. See

Not the TPU
Although they are both chips, the Tensor SoC is not the same as the Tensor Processing Unit (TPU). The Tensor SoC is a smartphone chip whereas the TPU is a custom-built chip for AI neural network processing. See
