An earlier subscription service from Microsoft that contained technical documentation, software evaluation, tools and tips, plus drivers and patches for Microsoft products. Launched in 1998, TechNet was replaced with Microsoft Docs in 2013.
TechNet subscribers could receive monthly updates on CD-ROMs or via downloads from the TechNet portal. The Web version included live support, resource links, Webcasts, a virtual lab and online newsletter. Subscribers were given access to the Microsoft Knowledge Base with more than 30,000 questions and answers. See
