A popular Web-based game publisher that was founded in 2007 by Mark Pincus. Named after his bulldog Zinga (and the company logo), Zynga became famous for games such as CitiVille, CastleVille, FarmVille, Texas HoldEm Poker and Empires & Allies on Facebook and other social sites.
In 2012, Zynga moved beyond Facebook and offered its games directly from the Web. In 2022, Zynga was acquired by Take-Two Interactive Software, and by 2025, the company claimed there have been more than two billion Zynga games downloaded.
