(ThermoElectric Generator) An electrical generator that turns temperature differences into electricity. Also known as a "Seebeck generator" because Thomas Seebeck discovered the process in the early 1800s, TEGs have been used in military and space applications for many years. In the future, TEGs are expected to become viable as body-worn generators to power devices such as fitness trackers while taking a brisk walk. See thermoelectric.
